Christopher Peter Meloni, an American actor who is well known for his character on the tv show Law & Order Special Victims Unit. While in college, he started to develop an interest in acting. At his school, the University of Colorado at Boulder where he was studying acting. He has appeared in both the television and film industry, but it was his smaller-screen roles that brought him fame and an enormous following. He's been able effortlessly play roles of characters on both sides of the law to grab an audience's attention. He was the voice of a serial murderer in the first TV series he appeared in however he later chose to play the role that of a NYPD detective. His small-screen performances are rewarded with numerous Emmy Awards nominations and PRISM Awards. One of his most striking facial features is said to be his distinctive blue eyes that are regarded as a signature and have aided in depicting tough characters that have charisma. People's magazine listed him as one of the Sexiest Men Alive for 2006.
